Verbatim Theatre Process

Service Description

This four part series will take students through the process of creating verbatim performance based on community stories. Starting with an introduction in week one to the core components of Verbatim Theatre, students will then be immersed in an interview experience, learning to actively listen and to seek theatrical potential. After exploring examples from my professional playwriting practice, students will then collaboratively devise and write short scenes based on interview transcripts. The workshop series concludes with a rehearsed reading of their original verbatim scenes.
